DINABI-We Are Hiring Accountant & Program Assistant

DINABI is seeking to recruit a dynamic, proactive, self-motivated, result-oriented, and experienced individual for Accountant and Program Assistant position. The applicant are expected to be resident in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Job Description:

Accountant

Specific tasks:

  • Ensure that all payments are accurately supported, approved and coded, and paid in a timely manner in the approved financial management system.
  • Ensure proper preparation of monthly payroll for the organization and proper filing.
  • Ensure monthly and quarterly financial reports are well prepared in a timely manner with the desired quality.
  • Ensure monthly bank reconciliations for all DINABI accounts are done in a timely manner as per the financial and administrative manual.
  • Maintain donor commitment tables and ensure timely submission of donor reports as per donor requirements.
  • Contribute to developing realistic budgets that are corresponding to the organization’s plan.
  • Follow up on immediate retirements, in case of non-compliance remind and guide staff on the retirement processes.
  • Assist to provide guidance to staff on financial policies and responding to any queries directed to the finance unit.
  • Preparation for and collaboration with auditors to ensure proper financial records and statements
  • Contribute effectively to planning, monitoring, reporting, and information dissemination of DINABI’s work.
  • Support in other administration matters as guided by the Program Officer or Executive Director.

 

Program Assistant

  • Manage the Program Officer and Executive Director’s calendar
  • Process payments for vendors and suppliers
  • Attend staff meetings and take minutes
  • Respond to emails and answer phone calls
  • Maintain office calendars and send out appointment reminders
  • Type letters and reports as required
  • Compile and send bulk mailings
  • Proofread and make copies of documents
  • Support in other administration matters as guided by the Program Officer or Executive Director.

 

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Accountant

  • Minimum of OND in Accounting (higher degree will be an added advantage).
  • At least one year of relevant work experience in an NGO.
  • Excellent administrative, planning, and budgeting skills.
  • Experience in using accounting packages especially QuickBooks, as well as MS Office.
  • Ability to keep deadlines and keen attention to detail.
  • Experience in NGO accounts/financial management.
  • Good English and writing skills.
  • Collaborative and team player.

 

Program Assistant

  • Minimum of OND in Social Sciences (higher degree will be an added advantage).
  • At least one year of relevant work experience in an NGO as a Program Assistant or Volunteer.
  • Excellent administrative, planning, and writing skills.
  • Computer Literacy is mandatory.
  • Ability to keep deadlines and keen attention to detail.
  • Good English and Report writing skills.
  • Collaborative and team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organized to oversee several projects at once
